Cami de Sant Jaume (Tarragona)
Tarragona, Vila-rodona, Lleida; Tarragona, Mequinenza, Candasnos; Mequinenza, Fabara

Route map

There are now two routes connecting Tarragona with the Cami de Sant Jaume:

  1. The official government-sponsored Tarragona branch of the Camí de Sant Jaume incorporates most of the Camino/Camì Vendrellenc, which in turn incorporates the Ruta del Cister, GR175, connecting the three main Cistercian monasteries in Catalonia: Santa Creus, Poblet and Vallbona de les Monges. There are leaflets to individual stages on the government website
  2. The GR65-5 follows a secondary Roman road and was originally planned to link Tarragona with Zaragoza, but it is only marked to the Aragon border at Mequinenza. Here the road continues as a track to the main Cami de Sant Jaume at Candasnos. There's a description of the whole route on LINCAWEB. Alternatively, from Mequinenza a path is marked to the Ruta del Ebro at Fabara
