Route map

The Austrian Sankt Jakobs Bruderschaft has created a waymarked route from the Slovakian border near Bratislava via Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck to Feldkirch and the Appenzeller Weg at Rankweil. See book by Peter Lindenthal, Auf dem Jakobsweg durch Österreich, or by Reinhard Dippelreither, Österreich: Jakobsweg. There is some info on the section between Göttweig and Melk on the Göttweig abbey site; on the Salzburg section on the Südost-Oberbayern Jakobsweg site; and on the Tirol and Vorarlberg sections on the Jakobsweg-Tirol site, including link to detailed mapping for Tirol. For Vorarlberg, see also Vorarlberg's pages, where there is also detailed mapping. There is also now a spur from Baad in the Kleinwalsertal.
